As a soloist, John performed many of the standard works in the repertoire as well as specially commissioned compositions. However, he was especially noted for his acclaimed recordings of works from the Baroque period and was a early proponent of the ‘new’ piccolo trumpet.
Below is a selection of his recordings which we hope to make as comprehensive as possible in due course. Most of his original LPs/CDs are no longer available, but a good many of the individual tracks have been included on numerous trumpet, or Baroque compilation discs over the years.
